These Hollow Vows duology

Lexi Ryan’s These Hollow Vows duology swept me away into a richly imagined world of fae courts, forbidden love, and unexpected betrayals. It’s a story that had me hooked from the very first chapter, and by the end, I was wishing there was a third book to keep me immersed in this magical world just a little longer.

These Hollow Vows Book Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

🌶️

The series follows Abriella (Brie), a fiercely determined protagonist who risks everything to rescue her sister. Along the way, she’s drawn into a complex web of fae politics and an emotional love triangle between two unforgettable characters: Prince Ronan, whose charm and light make him impossible to resist, and Finn, the brooding yet loyal leader of the Unseelie resistance.

What I Loved:

One of the standout elements of this series is the emotional depth of Brie’s journey. Her struggle to balance her loyalty to her sister, her growing powers, and her conflicted heart felt raw and authentic. I was especially impressed with her growth—from a reluctant heroine to someone who learns to trust herself and her instincts.

The romance is another highlight. The chemistry between Brie, Ronan, and Finn is palpable, and even though I had my favorite (Team Finn all the way!), both love interests brought something unique to the story. Lexi Ryan has a gift for writing romantic tension that will have you flipping pages late into the night.

And of course, the world-building! The faerie courts are lush and atmospheric, with just the right mix of danger and allure. Ryan’s descriptions made it so easy to imagine myself walking through these magical realms, and I loved how the Seelie and Unseelie courts each had distinct personalities and stakes.

What Fell Short for Me:

While I absolutely loved the series, there were a few things I found myself wishing for. Some plot twists felt a bit predictable, and the pacing occasionally wavered—some moments rushed while others dragged. I also missed seeing more of Brie’s little sister, whose rescue was such a driving force in the first book but felt less central in the second.

Lastly, I can’t help but feel a little sad that this is the end of Brie’s story. I would have loved a third book with a new threat and fresh adventures, but with the same characters and world I’ve come to love.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, These Hollow Vows and These Twisted Bonds are captivating reads that deliver romance, action, and a heroine who finds her strength in the face of impossible choices. I think fans of The Cruel Prince or A Court of Thorns and Roses will feel right at home in this darkly enchanting world.

💬 Favorite Quotes:

• “We are all more than the worst thing we’ve done.”

• “Power is never given; it is taken. And you are more powerful than you realize.”

• “Sometimes the best choices still hurt.”

If you love fae fantasy with emotional depth, high-stakes romance, and a world you won’t want to leave, this is a series worth diving into!
