Fear the flames

If you’re a fan of Fourth Wing, then Fear the Flame is a must-add to your TBR. This adult romantasy with a touch of spice completely captivated me – and let’s take a moment to appreciate the stunning sprayed edges and that breathtaking cover… Absolutely gorgeous!

One of the things I truly loved about this book is the mature cast of characters (25+), which brings a refreshing and more grounded feel to the story. The world-building is beautifully done, drawing me into a rich and immersive universe that gave me serious Game of Thrones vibes. From the very beginning, the story of an upcoming queen discovering dragon eggs—once believed to be turned to stone, only to hatch them herself—is simply enchanting.

However, I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed. A lot happens in the final pages, making it feel somewhat abrupt. While there’s no massive cliffhanger, the book does leave you wanting more and eagerly waiting for the second installment. I also found myself wishing for more character development, though it’s possible this will be further explored in the sequel. This book felt like an introduction to the world, the characters, their relationships, and the beginning of the larger overarching story.

Despite these minor drawbacks, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of reading Fear the Flame and can’t wait for the sequel – hopefully with equally stunning sprayed edges! If you’re into fantasy with a touch of romance and intrigue, this book is definitely worth picking up.
